Comprehensive School Health

CESA #9 is a member of the Wisconsin Alcohol Tobacco and Other Drug Education Network (WATODEN).

ATOD Member Districts: All CESA #9 districts are eligible for ATOD programs.

The Network has three primary objectives:

  • Assist school districts in the development of comprehensive, alcohol, tobacco, and other drug education (ATOD) and violence prevention programs.
  • Assist in developing partnerships at the community, county, regional, state, and national levels in order to facilitate cooperation and sharing, maximize resources, and reduce the duplication of services.
  • Assist schools and communities in the development of an integrated framework to foster healthy, resilient, successful learners. This objective is being promoted through the Wisconsin DPI's Framework for Student Services, Prevention and Wellness.

 Accomplishments of the Wisconsin ATOD Education Network:

  • Technical Assistance - to help districts develop a comprehensive ATOD program, locate resources, and evaluate programs
  • Training and Conferences - to meet regional or statewide needs
  • Student ATOD Mini-Grants - provide up to $1000 to student groups for developing and implementing projects that address AODA and other youth risk behavior.
    Resources/Services:
    • A library of (ATOD), school safety/violence prevention, and other youth risk behavior resources. 
    • Share shops, meetings, workshops, newsletters
    • Assistance with grant applications.
    • Integration of state initiatives.
    • Liason between school district, DPI and Partnership Councils.
